Send us your music info!

Ok, the countdown till I lose my internet for a week or so has begun so I thought I'd give it one last hoorah before its gone, although I am looking forward to living in a house with a shower for the first time in 3 years...

So band-wise at the moment we are in the early stages of getting the single sorted, which basically means we're making a HUGE list of practically everyone in the media, radio, tv who deals with music and then sending the promo packs off to them weeks in advance of the release date. If anyone wants to help us at all what would be really cool is if you have any music websites, magazines, radio stations or anything like that that you visit, which we may not have even heard of send us over a link. Or even a link and the names of some of the main movers and shakers in those sites/mags etc. That would be sweeeeeet. I mean this list is gonna be huge by the time we're done hopefully...

I'll let you know how that all goes when it's done.

I'm gonna start filming a few more bits and peices of the band and what we get up to in the next few weeks if anyone's interested in seeing Joe take a bath and talk about his garden, Kate show you the wonders of coffee... or Dan just drink.

For now I'll leave you with this advice; Never go to the toilet in a house that has yet to have its water turned on... awwwwkward.

Turn it up

Hey again all.
sitting in front of the computer having just been at a meetin with an amazin youth music charety i work for called 'Turn it up!' Just had a steering group meeting which is basically a chat about how the project is doing and such like. Lots of it goes over my head being that of funding n costs (i find it hard enouph to keep track of my own) but i love it. Makes me feel proud to be involved in such an amzing thing. If you have not heard of it and are interested in it go check it out!!!!! the link is on our front page friend list thing.
Been really busy today leading a workshop with the team in matlock. ive been doing a workshop that is the pilot for an idea i had a while ago which has not been done before in this country (cant really say too much about it coz we trying to get funding for future projects of thwe same and dont want the idea to leak to bigger groups coz ive put a lot of work into it and i need to pay my rent:) its goin great though:) Awsome! last day tommorow n then i gotta get into the post production part in my hole of a studio which im really lookin forward to:)
if you are a young musician and are interested in developing your skill, or a band who feel you could benifit from some words of guidence in all aspects of band life really, and want time to develop your sound get in touch!!!!!! I started off in a project like this one back in the day when i was at school. My school sucked for music!!! and being as that was what i was into (or making noise any way) i had a go at this sort of thing at another school in the holidays and the rest is history loved it n never looked back. The cool thing is a few years down the line i was asked if i wanted to get involved in the leadership side because i had been going around with a band called fallout40 who got fairly succsesfull around our area and kinda in other places. the geeza who runs it, julian, thought id have something to offer people so i gave it a go and now ive got a very rewarding job out of it. I have just recently took the step and registered my own buisness (brown towers music) and im now tryin to develop this n get more work which is goin ok:) Turn it up is a big part of this. I kinda like the idea of puttin stuff back and being as i aint really a 'scenster' and i dont do too much political stuff (which i kinda think i should but get a feeling of hoplessness most of the time......no excuss. b bragg n m thomas would be ashamed of me....soz folks) but i kinda like doing this as my 'bit'. I love it. its nice to help folk init:) Pass the smile on etc!
anyway. bored now. cant be arsed to find out wot ive put just a gibber and nuff gibber now. stay safe all. joe xx

I'm starting teaching drum lessons tomorrow! It's the first time I've had my own room to teach in and I'm all exited about it. Is that sad? I dunno but I'm chuffed. Also, why is it so bloody hot?? Im roasting now. I guess it's best not to complain though, england never gets this hot! Rite I'm off now for a Guinness, so until the next time, peace out. Dan xxx

First post, NEW SINGLE in November

Life is rosy here in JWP-Land at the moment, we have a new site up for the time being while we wait for the brand new swanky one to be built. The big news however is that we are in the very early stages of releasing our very first single. We've chosen 'Sing' as our first single and over the next few months we'll be sending it off to every man woman and child in the music biz (yes they still employ child labour, it's a cut-throat industry and money needs to be saved).

We've set the release date as mid November, this allows us enough time to get the single to the right people and create and bit of a buzz around it, it also gives us the opportunity to film the video we originally had planned (it's a sweet idea, more on that in the weeks to come as we'll need you as 'crowd').

We're working with Turn it Up, as always, Greenwood Studios and Baby-J to try and get it all done in the best way possible. So that's what we're up to for the next few months, promotion promotion, so if anyone feels like they can lend a hand, post things, email people, stick posters up, badger people, spread the word or anything else you may think of please get in touch, all help is hugely appreciated.

less gigs over the coming months because of all this but fear not, there will be a hometown gig soon to celebrate the single release.

Thanks for sticking with us
Sam
